We are a sewing school that operates classes in venues all over the country. We also complete upholstery commissions to order.
WizardMakes is run by an experienced high-school teacher of Textile Design & Technology. We can teach you to sew by machine and hand, so you can take your own products home and try them again for yourself.
We have two types of class. We run standalone classes where you can come and make a project with us – we ask that you book on those. We also run regular drop-in sessions that we call ‘Come and sew,’ and ‘Knit and natter’ where no booking is needed.

This month sees the launch of an exciting new class. We are offering you the chance to make a beautiful, unique decoration for your home for Christmas.
Come along and learn how to create a reindeer head that will coordinate perfectly with your home and holiday decorations.
You will need to bring your own fabric (details provided on booking), although the other materials (stuffing, eyes, mount) are provided.
A variety of dates are on offer so you should find one to suit.
Light refreshments are provided but you will need to bring your own lunch.

Have you done a bit of sewing and want to make something useful for your home? Do you want to save some money by making your own window dressings?
If you answered “Yes” to either of these questions then we have just the sewing course for you. Join Debs at WizardMakes, and learn the theory behind Roman blinds.
During this session you will learn the theory behind how to measure for and calculate the rod positioning for a Roman blind. You will produce samples ready for you to head home and create your own with the help of the notes that are provided.
You can either bring your own machine, or use one of Debs’ Janome machines from their current range.
Cost £50 Maximum class size 6 All materials provided to create a 60cm sample. Should you wish to make a larger blind mention this at the time of booking. A larger headrail can be provided at extra cost.

We have lots of new sessions organised, starting Monday 7 October 2019.
Are you anxious about taking the next step in your sewing? Would you like an expert on hand to guide and support you? Do you want your sewing to be a social event? This is the chance to do that. Drop-in sessions that can be taken on a Pay-as-you-go basis or booked as a half term block.
Currently the costs are £12 per session or if you book for a full half term at a time then it comes down to £10 per session, but the total will depend on the length of the half term. Many of our members find that this means that their activity is prioritised by the family. (Our own Debs know that this certainly used to be the case for her.)
No booking needed. Just bring along your fabric and pattern, and use our Janome sewing machines, overlocker, scissors, needles etc.

WizardMakes offers the opportunity for learning on your own directly with Deborah. The cost for this is £35/hour if delivered within a 10-mile radius of SK23. If further afield, we would need to cover our travel costs. Please call or email for details.
